Die gemeinsame Kultur erzeugt im Falle einer Kulturnation ein Nationalgefühl. Sie ist einem Staat gedanklich vorgelagert und von staatlichen Grenzen unabhängig. Eine Kulturnation kann auch dauerhaft ohne den ihr zugeordneten Nationalstaat existieren. Oft, insbesondere im Fall verspäteter Nationenδ, geht das im Begriff der Kulturnation enthaltene Zusammengehörigkeitsgefühl zeitlich der Gründung eines Nationalstaats voraus, so im Falle Deutschlands und Italiens im 19. Jahrhundert. |
